How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Our media project shows and explores a story of a character tracing back his past, but from our first two minutes of our shots there is only evidence of two characters both of which are not the main character. In the opening scene it shows two characters, one being a young black mal standing over the white male laying on the floor that's supposedly dead.

The characters of our film are mostly males in the mid 20s, as the characters are young our media product represents males in the age group of 18-30, this is considered a large audience. The main character shown in our media product is a male, the male audience members will be attracted and represented in our film. Later in the film, a female role will be introduced but still the male dominance will still emerge through the audience.

There are different social groups represented throughout our media project, mainly they are presented in a positive way; but obviously different opinions may change in representation. We believe if the main character is a black male it will show diversity and will appeal to the mass audience.

Certain shots have been used to make the characters look either inferior or superior we did this by using low camera angles to make the character look more superior and high camera angles to make them look inferior.
